Junior Arts Academy

This annual summer program has been providing both visual and theatrical arts instruction to 6-9 year olds for over 20 years. The two-week program runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day, Monday-Friday. The session culminates with “Play & Display” where young thespians perform original, short PLAYS on the Children’s Theatre Main Stage, and the work they create is on DISPLAY in the Arkansas Arts Center.

10 Sessions: June 5 – 16

Class Days: Monday – Friday (both weeks), 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily

Play & Display: Friday, June 16, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

$444 members; $555 non-members – Includes cost of all materials and one (1) JAA t-shirt.

Now in its 21st season, this annual summer program provides both visual and theatrical arts instruction to 6-9 year olds. The two-week program runs from 9am-5pm, every day, Monday-Friday. Students learn about different artists, build skills in both theatre and visual arts techniques and vocabulary, make new friends, and spend two weeks working toward Play & Display – their final performance and art exhibition. Bring a boxed lunch, drink, and two snacks each day. No refrigeration available.

Registration for this program is limited. Due to its popularity, it is recommended that you register online at https://www.arkansasartscenter.org/JAA as soon as registration opens on November 7, 2016.
